Eagle Mountain is Minnesota's highest point at 2,301 feet, located in the Superior National Forest near the Boundary Waters. The summit requires a moderate hike through northern forest and offers views of nearby lakes. The area represents the Canadian Shield geology typical of northern Minnesota.
History
Named for the bald eagles that nest in the area, Eagle Mountain sits in Minnesota's arrowhead region near the Canadian border. The mountain provides access to some of Minnesota's most pristine wilderness areas and offers excellent opportunities for observing northern forest wildlife.
