Campbell Hill
#43About Campbell Hill
Campbell Hill is Ohio's highest point at 1,550 feet, located in Bellefontaine in Logan County. The summit is accessible by car and sits on the grounds of the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center. Despite its modest elevation, it represents the highest point in the Buckeye State and offers a glimpse into Ohio's gently rolling topography.
History
Named after Charles D. Campbell who purchased the land in 1898, Campbell Hill has unique Cold War history. From 1951-1969, it housed the 664th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron as part of NORAD's early warning system. After the base closed, the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center was built on the site in 1974, making it one of the most accessible state high points.
