History
Saddleback has been a recreational destination since the early 20th century, with ski development beginning in the 1960s. The mountain's name comes from its distinctive saddle-shaped profile when viewed from certain angles. The alpine zone supports rare arctic plants found in few other locations in the eastern United States.
