History
Old Speck has been a hiking destination since the late 1800s. The observation tower on the summit was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. The mountain is part of the famous Mahoosuc Range, known for its rugged terrain and challenging section of the Appalachian Trail.
