Wildcat A Peak stands at 4,422 feet as the highest of the Wildcat peaks. The summit offers excellent views across Carter Notch to the Carter Range and towards Mount Washington. The mountain is traversed by the Wildcat Ridge Trail, which provides a challenging ridge walk connecting multiple peaks. A ski area operates on the mountain's eastern slopes.
History
The Wildcat peaks were named for the wild cats (likely bobcats or possibly mountain lions) that once inhabited the area. The Wildcat Ski Area opened in 1958, bringing development to the mountain's eastern face. The ridge trail has been a popular hiking route since the early 1900s, offering spectacular views and challenging terrain.
