Mount Jackson stands at 4,052 feet and offers one of the finest views per effort ratios in the White Mountains. The summit provides spectacular 270-degree views including Mount Washington, the Southern Presidentials, and Crawford Notch. The mountain is easily accessible from Route 302 in Crawford Notch.
History
Named after New Hampshire native Charles Thomas Jackson, a geologist and mineralogist, the mountain has been a popular destination since the establishment of Crawford Notch as a tourist area in the early 1800s. The Webster-Jackson Trail was established in the late 1800s and remains a popular route for hikers of all abilities.
