Mount Hancock reaches 4,420 feet and is located in the southern Pemigewasset Wilderness. The summit offers good views, particularly to the south and west. The mountain is typically climbed via the Hancock Loop Trail, which also includes South Hancock. The trail features interesting rock formations and scenic forest hiking.
History
Named after John Hancock, the first signer of the Declaration of Independence, the mountain has been part of the White Mountains hiking network since the early 20th century. The Hancock Loop became a popular hiking route after World War II as interest in peak bagging grew.
