Mount Cabot
#33About Mount Cabot
Mount Cabot reaches 4,170 feet and is the northernmost 4,000-footer in New Hampshire. The summit features an open area with a cabin (The Cabot Cabin) and provides excellent views, particularly to the north towards Canada. The mountain offers a quieter hiking experience compared to more popular peaks to the south.
History
Named after Sebastian Cabot, the Italian explorer, Mount Cabot became part of the AMC 4,000-footer list in the 1950s. The summit cabin, maintained by local clubs, has provided shelter to hikers for decades. The mountain's remote northern location makes it a favorite for hikers seeking solitude.
