About Killington Peak
Killington Peak rises to 4,229 feet and is Vermont's second highest mountain. The summit is home to a major ski resort and offers panoramic views of the Green Mountains. On clear days, visibility extends to the Adirondacks, White Mountains, and beyond.
History
Originally called Pisgah, the peak was renamed Killington for the nearby town. The Long Trail and Appalachian Trail both cross the summit, making it a key destination for thru-hikers. Ski development began in the 1950s, and Killington has become one of the largest ski resorts in eastern North America.
