North Maroon Peak
#48About North Maroon Peak
North Maroon Peak stands at 14,022 feet (4,274 m) as the northern summit of the Maroon Bells. Like its southern counterpart, it features beautiful but dangerously loose maroon-colored rock. The traverse between the two Maroon Bells is considered one of the most dangerous routes in the Colorado Rockies.
History
Part of the iconic Maroon Bells, North Maroon shares the same rotten rock characteristics as Maroon Peak. The Bells Traverse has claimed many lives over the years and should only be attempted by experienced technical climbers.
