Little Bear Peak rises to 14,041 feet (4,280 m) as one of the most challenging 14ers. The standard route requires difficult Class 4 climbing on the infamous 'Hourglass' couloir. This technical peak attracts experienced climbers comfortable with steep, exposed terrain and is considered one of the most difficult 14ers to summit.
History
Part of the Blanca massif, Little Bear has a reputation as one of the hardest 14ers. The Hourglass section has been the site of numerous accidents and requires solid technical climbing skills and good conditions.
