Grays Peak
#9About Grays Peak
Grays Peak rises to 14,275 feet (4,351 m) as the highest summit on the Continental Divide and the highest peak in the Front Range. Often climbed with neighboring Torreys Peak, it features one of the easiest and most popular standard routes of any 14er. The well-marked trail and stunning alpine scenery make it an excellent choice for first-time 14er climbers.
History
Named after botanist Asa Gray by the 1861 survey party, Grays Peak is one of the most accessible 14ers from Denver. The historic Stevens Mine near the summit operated during Colorado's mining boom. The peak remains one of the most climbed 14ers due to its proximity to the Front Range.
