Ellingwood Point rises to 14,057 feet (4,285 m) as a subsidiary summit of Blanca Peak. The peak is typically climbed from the Blanca massif and offers excellent scrambling on solid rock. It provides spectacular views of the surrounding Sangre de Cristo Range.
History
Named after Albert Ellingwood, a mathematics professor and pioneering Colorado climber who made first ascents throughout the state in the early 1900s. The peak honors his significant contributions to Colorado mountaineering.
