Mount Cameron
#54About Mount Cameron
Mount Cameron stands at 14,238 feet (4,340 m) but lacks the required 300 feet of prominence to be ranked as an official 14er. Part of the Decalibron loop, it's often climbed between Democrat and Lincoln. Despite its unranked status, it's a named peak and counts toward the completion of all 58 Colorado fourteeners.
History
Named after a mining claim owner, Mount Cameron's prominence debate has been ongoing for years. While not ranked due to insufficient prominence, it remains a required summit for those completing all named Colorado 14ers.
