About Mount Abraham
Mount Abraham is Vermont's fifth highest peak at 4,014 feet and features one of Vermont's three alpine summits. The exposed rocky summit offers outstanding views and supports rare arctic plants. The Long Trail traverses the summit, providing access from either direction.
History
Named after President Abraham Lincoln, Mount Abraham has been part of the Long Trail since the trail's early days. The summit's alpine zone is carefully protected, with hikers asked to stay on exposed rock to preserve the fragile vegetation. The mountain is part of the Green Mountain National Forest.
