About Mount Abraham
Mount Abraham rises to 4,050 feet and offers one of the finest alpine hiking experiences in Maine. The summit features extensive above-treeline terrain with fragile alpine vegetation. Clear days provide views stretching from Katahdin to Mount Washington.
History
Named after President Abraham Lincoln, Mount Abraham has been protected for its alpine ecosystem. The mountain's extensive alpine zone is one of the largest in Maine outside of Katahdin, supporting rare arctic plants that have survived since the last ice age.
